What to expect?
A vineyard in Flanders Fields? Is this possible? But there are no slopes? And is this soil good enough? Is there enough Sun? It rains too much, no? Flemish wine, this cannot be good?
All these questions and many others are answered.
For a fully guided tour you schedule about an hour and a half to two hours.
First of all, we will guide you during a visit in the vineyards, where the difficult, but passionate work of the winemaker is explained. The fascinating local history will not be forgotten dotted with a few anecdotes.
It is followed by the visit of the cellar. Different production processes are explained, you learn a few facts about the different types of wine and a few tricks of the trade: you will definitely get a different view of wine!
Wine tasting!
A tasting of these wines is obviously not forgotten. It takes place in the tastingroom with a magnificent view over the vineyards.
Filip, the winemaker, takes you on an exploration trip in wine tasting. You are sure to be surprised!
You'll get two wines to taste. A still white wine and our famous liquor Wipers Times, made from grape and pear juice. This for only €5 per person. You can complete your tasting round with our sparkling wines: our Wipers Brut 100% Chardonnay and the Wipers Poppy Wine with actual... poppy extract, this for only €2 (two) additional per person.
Of course, the tasted wines can be purchased. We have no exclusive distributors.
Information
A guided tour can be organized from 10 people onwards. We can accommodate up to 50 people. Less than 10 people? No problems, you can join another group, or if you like your privacy we charge the 10 people package. You will find us on the road from Ieper (Ypres) to Dixmuide (N369 km 7.6). There is ample parking in the courtyard.
A visit can for practical reasons, by appointment only, please respect your arrival time to have no conflict with other visitors and please bring your wellies or walking shoes for the visit in the vineyards.
